Jampro Sells Antennas To Vietnam Television

JamproHere’s some post-Dielectric purchase antenna news: Jampro sold two high-power broadband antennas in Vietnam that will power Vietnam Television (VTV), the national television broadcaster for the Southeast Asian country.

The company sent a release out Wednesday saying both antennas — one for VHF Band III transmission and one for UHF — will provide coverage of CanTho, the fifth largest city in Vietnam. The sale follows a 2011 order for ten Jampro DVB-T antenna systems, Alex Perchevitch, Jampro president said in a statement.

“For many years, we supplied Voice of Vietnam, the founder of VTV, with radio broadcast antennas. That excellent relationship and the proven field performance of our equipment led to this latest award”

Antenna news for now will likely come from outside the U.S., as broadcasters wait to see how the pending spectrum auction and channel repack plays out.

Jampro’s Vietnam deal also provides its own manufactured Proline brand of rigid transmission line for both installations and related RF components.

KRBK Springfield Creates Single Frequency Network

KRBK Springfield, Mo., deployed five UHF slot antennas around its coverage area and configured them into a Single Frequency Network.

The Koplar Communications-owned Fox affiliate for the Springfield and Ozark Plateau area (DMA 74) bought Jampro Antennas’ ProStar UHF slot antennas for the project.

“Few stations in the United States have deployed a single frequency network in a multiple antenna design successfully,” said Alex Perchevitch, Jampro president, in a statement. “Both Jampro and KRBK are very proud of that accomplishment.”

One of the biggest challenges of implementing the SFN was engineering and producing slot antennas that complied with critical azimuth and special elevation patterns. Engineering teams from Jampro and KRBK worked together on the project.

Prostar antennas are available in power ratings ranging from 1 kW to 90kW and are compatible with DTV, ISDB-T and DVB-T broadcasts.
