On Sunday, KUSA Denver went live using the tiny camera for a consumer report story about how the camera designed for action sports makes its way into the NBC affiliate’s broadcast.
“We love our GoPro Camera at 9News,” said anchor Cheryl Preheim.
Following the consumer report, the Gannet-owned station went live from a vehicle being driven by KUSA photojournalist Brian Willie, who showed off the camera’s live capability by mounting it on the side of one of their news vehicles.
Preheim told viewers that the station has mounted the camera to bikes and to Sky 9, the station’s news helicopter.
“It’s a great perspective and adds a lot to our storytelling here,” she said.
At this year’s NAB Show in Las Vegas, GoPro had one of the more popular booths, in part because the company was giving out several cameras as raffle prizes.
