Scripps ABC affiliate WEWS Cleveland (DMA 18) has named Colleen Seitz as the station's director of new media. In her new position she will oversee all of the station's efforts in new media involving developing and executing content on multiple-platforms including newsnet5.com and the station's mobile Web site.

Seitz previously was WEWS' executive producer of newsnet5.com where she oversaw the development, creation and launch of the station's Web site. Seitz has managed, developed and trained the station's staff to deliver content in a 24-hour, seven day a week environment. She joined WEWS in 1992 as a news producer.

Prior to coming to WEWS, Seitz worked as a producer for WKRC Cincinnati and WCMH Columbus, Ohio.

Currently Seitz is on the board of trustees of the Ohio Center for Broadcasting where she works to develop curriculum as an advisory committee member. She also serves as a speaker to various classes about new media.

Seitz is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University from which she has a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and Spanish.
