Debbi Thompson Steps Up At WSAV
Debbi Thompson has been named vice president and general manager of WSAV, Media General's NBC affiliate in Savannah, Ga., it was announced today.
Thompson, who is stepping up from general sales manager, succeeds Brad Moses, who is moving to WNCN Raleigh-Durham, N.C., to replace GM Barry Leffler, who purchased a minority ownership in WCHL-AM in Chapel Hill, N.C., and is now managing the station.

"Debbi is a talented leader with proven experience in revenue generation," said Rick Lipps, group leader for Augusta/Savannah/Charleston. "Her passion and knowledge of the local community will help drive WSAV to continued success."
Prior to joining WSAV as GSM in 2005, Thompson was director of sales for Belo Marketing Solutions in Dallas.
Before that, she was local sales manager for WFAA Dallas. She has also held various sales executive positions in Texas, Florida and Oregon.
She is a summa cum laude graduate of Dallas Baptist University, and was a member of the 2007 class of Media General's Leadership Development Program.
