Fox Taps Harrington To Head Tech At L.A. Duo
Steve Harrington has been named vice president of engineering and operations for Fox-owned KTTV-KCOP Los Angeles, effective Aug. 2. Harrington will be responsible for oversight and management of the stations' engineering operations and production facilities, reporting directly to Kevin Hale, the stations' VP-GM.
Harrington comes to KTTV-KCOP from WFXT, the Fox owned-and-operated station in Boston, where he spent nearly seven years as the VP of engineering. Prior to this he spent two-and-a-half years as director of engineering at WGBH and nearly four years as director of news operations for WHDH, both also in Boston.
Previously, Harrington spent two years as chief engineer of WLNE Providence, R.I., and spent nearly five years as chief engineer of Boston Catholic Television. Earlier, he spent nearly 13 years as an engineering supervisor for WLVI Boston. He began his career as a broadcast rechnician at WOKR Rochester, N.Y.
He is a graduate of the Radio Electronics and Television School in Detroit.
