Entertainment Studios Names New Marketing VP
Entertainment Studios Networks has named John McDonald VP of marketing. He will oversee and manage the strategic direction for all facets of Entertainment Studios marketing -- including brand strategy, consumer media planning, promotion of network distribution, affiliate marketing, ad sales partnerships, and the interactive online and mobile marketing initiatives for the company's six 24-hour HD cable networks (Pets.TV, Comedy.TV, Recipe.TV, Cars.TV, ES.TV, and MyDestination.TV) and 24 syndicated television shows.
McDonald will be based at Entertainment Studios' Los Angeles headquarters, and will report directly to Janice Arouh, the newly appointed president of domestic distribution and marketing for entertainment Studios Networks.
"John brings enormous creative vision and talent to Entertainment Studios," said Byron Allen, chairman-CEO of Entertainment Studios. "His leadership, management depth, and extensive trusting relationships with the distributor community are major assets as we embark on expanding the presence of our HD/3D networks, and develop additional opportunities for growth across all platforms."
Prior to joining Entertainment Studios, McDonald was director of affiliate marketing, Hallmark Channels. Prior to joining Hallmark Channels in 2003, McDonald worked at Greenhaven Films for Producer/Director Peter Segal on Revolution Studios' Anger Management and NBC's Hidden Hills. McDonald earned a bachelor's in communication arts from Southern Methodist University.
