KPHO Names New Main Anchor, Chief Meteorologist
Current Chief Meteorologist and News Anchor Sean McLaughlin has been promoted to main anchor for Meredith's CBS affiliate KPHO Phoenix (DMA 12).
McLaughlin will soon join Catherine Anaya for the 5 and 10 p.m. newscasts and will continue his current 6:30 p.m. anchoring assignment. The change comes after longtime anchor Kent Dana recently announced his desire to pursue other interests after declining an opportunity to remain on air at KPHO.
McLaughlin left his position as chief meteorologist for MSNBC and the Weekend Today Show in New York to become KPHO's 6:30 p.m. anchor and chief meteorologist in 2006. McLaughlin has worked in the Phoenix market for more than a decade. He continues to fill in on The CBS Early Show for CBS News in New York.
McLaughlin has a degree in Journalism from Iowa State University.
Joining Sean McLaughlin and Catherine Anaya will be Chief Meteorologist Chris Dunn.
Dunn most recently was chief meteorologist for KDVR Denver. He has nearly 20 years of television forecasting experience, including chief meteorologist for KYW Philadelphia, KUTV Salt Lake City and WSVN Miami.
Dunn is a graduate of California State University and is working on his master's degree in aviation safety. He is an avid pilot.
