WUSA Debuts 53 Hyperlocal Websites
WUSA, Gannett Broadcasting's CBS affiliate in Washington (DMA 9), and DataSphere Technologies, a provider of hyperlocal Web technology for media companies, have launched Where You Live, comprising 53 community-focused hyperlocal websites in the Washington area.
The new community sites, each to appear under the universal masthead Where You Live and integrated within www.wusa9.com, WUSA’s primary website, will feature hyperlocal information and user-generated content about area happenings and events in local communities around the District, Maryland and Virginia.
Users can click on their local community within a module on the wusa9.com website and then be linked to a hyperlocal website for their specific community for future searches and interaction.
Each website will include community news, plus information about family activities, events, pets, restaurants and much more. Local businesses will also benefit from the opportunity to specifically target their potential customers.
“The national capital area is a rich tapestry of unique neighborhoods and communities,” said Allan Horlick, WUSA president-GM. “Where You Live provides the most relevant, most local news and information possible.”
